This week Wyatt pulled out his felt letters to spell out the alphabet.

I found a '65 hardback math book at a yard sale on Saturday. Wyatt and I worked on the coin section, then played restaurant, paying with different amounts of coins (as well as leaving a tip:).

wyatt's work

I have a booth at the Southport Farmers Market this season selling my bessmess items. As Wyatt will be with me most of the days, I thought it would be a good experience for him to have some of his own things to sell as well.
Wyatt's Work stickers:
Wyatt's work was a family effort. Daddy drew some of Wyatt's favorite things, then Wyatt painted his paintings. Mommy added in some words & printed them, and waalaah ,...Wyatt's work stickers were born.

Thought it would be neat for him to sell produce as well, as that is what most people buy at a farmers market. Though his food will be made out of felt. This past weeks special was carrots. Wyatt decided we should have 12, so I made 12 carrots. I think he has requested popsicles for next week.

His profits are split in 2 categories. Half is going in his savings for school and the other half is going toward his first real bike {with training wheels}. I plan on putting his things on my etsy page, with the same plan to split his money into these 2 categories.

"So how did he do all day at the market," you might be wondering. He was such a trooper! We read books, played bowling with a set I picked up, and he got to interact with customers. He gave away stickers (every child that stops by gets a free sticker)  and sold a few sets, too. Excited to see him bloom with this experience.

(me)"Wyatt, what do you want to say about your picture?"

(wyatt)"Popsicle, apple, daddy, kate, jack, grant, egg, ma, pa, toast, egg, wyatt henry taylor, owen."
"wow wow wow wow"

First there was blue and green. Then he loved pink and purple. Now his favorite color is "only red".

I'm thankful that Wyatt loves popsicles right now, because he has another "p" word that is less favorable for an alphabet and to use in general {poo poo head} a favorite of his that we are working on changing :/

Monday, Monday...

Maybe a peak at our Monday will brighten your Monday, Monday blues.

We went to a magic show at the play place this morning. Wyatt started out sitting beside me because he felt safer there. I was so proud of him mid-way through when he moved to the floor with the other children.

Where did he go?

When we got home Wyatt helped me replant our 2 new plants: Basil and Aloe Vera. He decided he is good at planting plants. He is excited about eating basil, but I am not sure that he will actually enjoy eating it. And he is going to help me take care of them.

What to do on cold days with no snow:

Yesterday, it was cold outside without snow. So what did we do with our long day inside?
-I made a list of things to collect that corresponded to a number, and he had to bring me that number of things. 1 chicken leg (play food :), 2 keys, 3 blocks,... He had the best time and I was able to get a little computer work done while he was hunting. When he brought them to me, I would double check his number and he would check them off his list.

-We had an Easter egg hunt. Good thing it was with painted wooden eggs, since we can't find one. Wyatt hide them, then he found them (except a few.) Still lots of fun!

-What to do when there is no snow outside, and lots of Styrofoam squares in a box?

All aboard!

Wyatt saw 2 boxes the other day and decided that they were a train. After playing with them for awhile, he decided he needed something a bell. Next came a bell, something to hold the tickets for the train, a steering wheel, 4 wheels, and a box for his train whistles & snacks.

We had 2 chairs set up as the train station, where the passengers (stuffed animals) waited. They each had to give a ticket to board. My responsibility (I was informed) was to say, "Enjoy your ride" to each passenger. That night Pa, Ma, and Kate even got in on the action (of being on the train.) Wyatt was the only one who went anywhere. He would run and push the engine then jump in.

Superhero!

Wyatt's newest endeavor is being a superhero.
"spy glasses"
It started the first of the week when his blue sunglasses were unearthed from under the seat in the car. He would "activate" them and call them his spy glasses.
Then, came superhero night on Wednesday night, and from Wednesday morning on, he was decked out in his costume, that Peg and Owen had given him. Literally, every waking minute of the past 4 days (and one night) he has been a superhero. His self acclaimed powers are climbing, jumping, and going under things. He especially likes his cape to flow out in the back - big jumps are crucial to make this happen.
